National Ambulance Service Denies Sale of Ghana Ambulance in Dubai
The National Ambulance Service of Ghana has refuted claims that an ambulance belonging to the country was being offered for sale in Dubai. The denial follows the circulation of a video on TikTok, where Ghanaian users shared footage of an ambulance branded in Ghana’s colors at a car sales company’s garage in Dubai. The TikTokers alleged that the vehicle was available for purchase for 115,000د.إ (115,000 Dirhams), equivalent to around $31,000.
However, according to a press release from the National Ambulance Service, the ambulance featured in the video is not up for sale as claimed. Instead, it is part of a consignment that will soon be shipped to Ghana. The service clarified that the ambulance is currently located at the premises of the manufacturing company in Dubai, awaiting transportation to Ghana.

The statement explained that the ambulance in question is one of 26 Toyota Hiace Ambulances being procured by the Ghanaian government through the Ministry of Health, with funding provided by the World Bank. Consequently, the ambulance’s presence in Dubai is solely for logistical purposes and not for sale.
The National Ambulance Service assured the public that the manufacturing process for the ambulances has been completed, and they will soon be shipped to Ghana. In light of these facts, they urged the general public to disregard the circulated video and the commentary provided by its creator.
