Afrofusion Artist Darkua Joins Apple Music’s Up Next in Ghana
Apple Music has announced that Darkua, an alternative singer-songwriter from Ghana, is the next artist to be featured in its Up Next artist development program. Darkua, whose real name is Naa Darkua Chinonye Wristberg, expressed her excitement about being selected for the program, stating that it feels like a dream come true. Darkua’s musical journey began at a young age when her parents exposed her to the music of renowned Ghanaian artists such as A.B Crenstil, E.T Mensah, and Lagbaja, among others. After dedicating a year to honing her craft, Darkua released her fourth single, “Echo,” in 2023. Produced again by Viqtorioz, the song is an empowering Afro-soul track that showcases her confidence and comfort in expressing her desires to her partner.
