Nacee explained that one common practice in their church was the burning of incense during worship. However, he came across a pastor who preached against the use of incense in churches, citing it as an abomination according to the Bible. Intrigued by this contradiction, Nacee sought clarification from a knowledgeable individual.
“I didn’t criticize my family’s church; I simply wanted a better understanding of what the pastor had said. As I played the drums for various churches to make a living, I encountered a pastor who told me, ‘God says incense is an abomination to me,’ which conflicted with the practice at my family’s church. So, I approached the person who used to read the Bible and sought clarification,” Nacee recounted.
Nacee expected his conversation with Brother Paul, the reader, to clear up the matter. However, instead of understanding Nacee’s intention, Brother Paul twisted his words and accused him of speaking negatively about the church. Consequently, Brother Paul conveyed this distorted version to Nacee’s aunties and sisters, which led to his expulsion from home.
“When I asked Brother Paul about the discrepancy between God’s statement on incense and our church’s practice, he explained everything to me and even condemned the use of incense. However, he twisted my words and told my aunties and sisters that I was speaking ill of the church. They believed his false account and subsequently decided to kick me out of the house,” Nacee revealed.
