Court has commenced adjudication of a lawsuit filed against First Atlantic Bank and CFO by the alleged side-chick of the bank’s CFO in what is reported to be a sexual harassment accusation
Reports indicate that the case was called on Thursday, February 16, 2023 in a High court, and was presided by Justice Olivia Obeng Owusu to commence preliminary processes and then adjourned the case to February 23 for a hearing after instructing all parties to do the needful prior to the adjourned date.
Deborah Seyram Adabalah, side-chick of First Atlantic bank CFO Mr. Kwasi Nimako who did her national service at the bank sued the bank and its CFO over failure on the part of the bank CFO to honour some promises made to her.
The alleged side-chick went viral after going public and accusing the CFO for not fulfilling certain promises made to her regarding apartment, vehicle, cash etc.
The plaintiff again accused its CFO, identified as Kwasi Nimako of sexual harassment and accused the bank, of condoning what she grumbles about as sexual harrasment she and other female workers suffered.
In another accusation, the complainant filed that, the bank used her and other female colleagues as sex bait to entice wealthy male customers to the bank in opening bank accounts.
Several opinions poured in following rants by the complainant on social media prior to the lawsuit. The complainant threatened a legal action if her demands were not met at the time and consequently got the CFO dismissed by the bank.
In response to the suit, First Atlantic Bank has countered and asked that its name be withdrawn from the lawsuit. The bank had earlier filed an application dated on January 24, asking for cancellation of certain paragraphs of the writ thus paragraphs 7,8,9,10,11,31,32,33,34,36 and 37 on premise that “they disclose no reasonable cause of action against the applicant“.
Some Ghanaians have described the move by the young lady as a plan to blackmail the accused person for financial gains adding that what happened between the complainant and defendant was purely a love affair with consensual intimacy which doesn’t warrant any legal coercion to compensate the complainant whatsoever.
