Ghanaian Actor Ekow Smith Asante’s Love for Acting Transcends Financial Gain
Ekow Smith Asante, the Ghanaian actor and film producer, recently shared that his motivation for entering the acting industry was not driven by a desire for personal wealth. Instead, he pursued acting out of a genuine passion for the craft.

When given the opportunity to work alongside industry legends, he considered it a dream come true. Asante acknowledged that although he did not earn substantial sums of money, it did not concern him greatly because his true focus was on his love for acting.
Speaking in an interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM, Asante stated, “I did not enter the field for financial gain. I am not part of the generation that pursued acting solely for monetary reasons. I had a deep passion for it, and that passion still remains. I simply wanted to act, so my main focus was on nurturing my talent.” When asked about his earnings during his active acting years, Asante disclosed, “Our compensation was in accordance with the state of the economy, and if managed wisely, it was satisfactory.”
