Mam Yandey Joof Granted Bail in Kikibees Restaurant Owner’s Death
Mam Yandey Joof, a hotelier and alleged girlfriend of Benett Agyekum Adomah, also known as Kikibees, has been granted GH¢200,000 bail with one surety by an Accra High Court.
Joof is currently facing a murder charge in connection with the death of Kikibees, the owner of Kikibees restaurant. The bail was filed pending trial at the High Court (Criminal Court 5).
Kikibees reportedly exhibited strange behavior in Joof’s apartment, prompting her and a friend to rush him to the hospital. However, Kikibees allegedly died shortly thereafter. Joof, who has been appearing before a Madina District Court, had her plea reserved.

In a plea for bail pending trial, Mr. Muniru Kassim, Joof’s defense counsel, argued that the charges against his client lacked merit based on the autopsy report. The postmortem report indicated that the cause of death was a “severe fall due to alcohol ingestion.”
Kassim highlighted Joof’s fixed address, employment at a hotel, and the availability of people with sufficient means to stand as surety.
The defense counsel revealed that Kikibee had returned to the country three months before the incident leading to his death. On the night in question, Kikibees visited Joof’s apartment, where he began hallucinating and causing a disturbance.
Joof sought assistance from a friend, and during this time, Kikibees allegedly fell heavily, leading to his unconscious state. Despite the efforts to revive him, Kikibees passed away at the hospital.
Kassim contended that the facts presented did not support the murder charges, as there was no evidence of malicious intent. Miriam Boakye Yiadom, a State Attorney, objected to the bail application, citing a previous denial of bail by another High Court on October 18, 2023.
The state attorney argued that investigations were ongoing and urged the court to reject the current bail application.
