Manager and husband of the Celestine Donkor has cautioned Charterhouse, organisers of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) to award Piesie Esther with Gospel Song of the Year or else mobilize heavy demonstration
Mr. Donkor further congratulated Ewura Abena and Perez Musik for their laudable efforts this year in the music industry and according to him such efforts shouldn’t go unnoticed.
Please give it to Piesie Esther otherwise, we will demonstrate big time!! Let me congratulate Ewura Abena and Perez Musik. They have really done well for themselves ,Kofi Donkor posted.Kofi Donkor, who is the husband and manager of gospel singer, Celestine Donkor disclosed this following Charterhouse’s unveiling of all nominations for the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA). According to Mr. Donkor, Piesie Esther Deserves to win the Gospel Song of the year.
Charterhouse on March 18, announced the nominations list for this year’s awards ceremony with favorite artistes including Sarkodie, Black Sherif, Camidoh, Kwesi Arthur, Piesie Esther etc.
The main event slated on Saturday, May 13, 2023 which also marks the 24th VGMA will be held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
The Gospel Song of the Year category which had the manager’s wife as part of the nominees has raised eyebrows as to why Mr. Donkor is rather pushing for Piesie Esther and not his wife to emerge winner of the category.
The nominees for the category are, Celestine Donkor, Piesie Esther, Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Perez Musik, Bethel Revival Ministries, Ewurabena and MOG Music.

Categories for this year’s VGMA include Artiste of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Gospel Song of the Year, Gospel Artiste of the Year, Album of the Year, Afrobeats Song of the Year, Highlife Song of the Year, Hiplife Song of the Year, Rapper of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.
